The political pressure applied on Defense Minister Israel Katz to censure Central Command Avi Bluth for abusing his use of administrative orders has borne fruit.
However, the Israel Defense Forces quickly pushed back, stating that Bluth remains in his post and will not be replaced.
During an interview on Channel 14, Katz announced his decision to appoint a new head of Central Command but at the same time admitted that the US decides where a Jew can live in Israel! He stated that Dardik “can go to his parents’ home today, or anywhere else except Area B, where he wants to go — because that creates a conflict with the Americans right now.”
According to Katz, “The proper route is to open a criminal investigation against Dardik and not confine him to house arrest. If there is no evidence, there is no case; if there is evidence, indict him.”
At the same time, Katz kept in place the option for Central Command to continue to place Yesha residents under house arrest with no evidence or trial.
