Continuing to redeem Wadi Zarqa (aka Zarqa Stream) 🌳💦🐐
Jewish settlers, reclaiming Wadi Zarqa in Binyamin, Samaria, about 20 km northwest of Ramallah, have lived on Givat Tidhar in the western part of the valley for nearly two months. This once-dangerous, hostile area dense with springs is steadily coming under stronger Jewish control.
Recent updates include the permanent arrival of the Gozlan family and their children. Despite lacking electricity and running water, they manage with emergency lighting and jerrycans.
The settlers’ flock of sheep has expanded grazing lands as far as the Artava fortress, with shepherds providing nearly continuous security. One shepherd recently discovered an improvised terrorist shooting range in a nearby cave; its use ended after the Jewish presence was established, underscoring the security value of settlement on the ground.
Work has also begun to restore and clean Ein Artava, the spring at the hill’s junction. The goal is for visitors to soon reach it by private car and bathe there freely and safely.
Much progress has been made, yet substantial work remains. This national effort receives no government support and relies entirely on the people of Israel.
