B”H, 27th of Tammuz, 5786
We express our protest against the arrest of Tal Yinon Dardik, without trial, without justice, and without evidence, due to a “violation” of an unreasonable administrative order that directed him to stay under full house arrest at his mother-in-law’s home. The arrest was carried out just a week after the birth of his son, while his wife is still recovering from childbirth and caring for their four young children alone.
Tal is involved in developing an important settlement and security point on our country’s land. Managing the farm also demands his presence during this sensitive period.
To our even greater sorrow, Tal Yinon has been forced to go on a hunger strike until they allow him to return to his home and family.
It is important to know that administrative orders of any kind are meant for extreme, dangerous cases that could cause harm to Israel’s security. Using them against a civilian harms basic civil rights, and there is no place to direct them against Jews.
We call upon all public representatives, and first and foremost the Minister of Defense, Mr. Yisrael Katz, to immediately stop the harm to settlers through administrative orders, and to urgently order the release of Tal Yinon to his home—especially in light of the fact that he has already not eaten a bite of food for nearly a week!
