In Israel, where shocking events occur almost daily, the repeated injustices against the settlement enterprise often go unnoticed. Yet this month, we must not forget the staggering number of brutal evacuations and home demolitions that took place last month (see calendar above). Destruction occurs almost every day at unprecedented levels: Families’ homes are razed in the dead of night, pioneering youths are violently removed, and livestock are left without shelter.
With God’s help, the hilltop communities continue to establish themselves despite these hardships. Even 100 evacuations a month will not break us. However, the daily deployment of massive security forces to destroy Jewish settlements is simply inconceivable under a right-wing government.
Is there a righteous voice in the current Knesset willing to commit to ending these scenes in the next government?
