In recent days, extensive investigation into the deadly terror attack at Sela Ridge has uncovered remarkable footage. According to hikers’ testimonies, one video shows Benayahu Melet, after being shot and critically wounded, summoning his remaining strength. Exhausted and on the ground, he rises, draws a pistol, and opens fire on several of the terrorists. The edited clip with explanatory notes is described as extraordinary.
Separately, a Golani soldier on leave who was hiking is seen engaging and hitting the two terrorists who attacked the wounded security coordinator of Gilad Farm.
Benayahu’s widow, Esther, said: “He was a hero in life and a hero in death. We must provide covering fire for our fighters so there are no more widows and orphans. The village of Tel must be erased, and Jewish settlement established throughout the area.”
Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, called him “a hero of Israel who saved lives until his final breath.”
