In a dramatic ruling, Judge Ron Solkin (picture above) of the District Court released Uriyah Cohen, owner of Tzofnat Farm in Samaria, from restrictive conditions following his arrest. The judge sharply criticized the prosecution and ruled that the settlers’ immediate search for their stolen flock was legitimate and necessary.
Solkin emphasized that the disappearance of such a herd requires swift action, as it could be slaughtered or absorbed into other flocks within hours. He stressed that settlers in Judea and Samaria endure an unbearable reality of daily terror attacks, infiltrations, agricultural thefts, arsons, and constant threats to their lives.
Actions must be judged in light of this dangerous environment, not from the comfort of an air-conditioned office. While anyone breaking the law must face consequences, the full context must always be considered.
