Police have arrested three young men, aged 18–20, near Kedumim in the Samaria district following large fires in the area. The arrests have sparked controversy, as supporters linked to the Hilltop Youth claim the three were volunteers assisting firefighters at Havat Gilad. They say the young men were simply refueling leaf blowers used to combat the flames.
According to a police statement, Border Police officers observed the suspects filling multiple fuel containers at a gas station after the blazes. A search of their vehicle reportedly uncovered an improvised weapon, masks, a utility knife, and two license plates belonging to another vehicle. The police say that the suspects allegedly could not explain the presence of these items and claimed the fuel was for agricultural equipment.
The three were taken to Ariel Police Station for questioning and remanded in custody. They are expected to appear in court for a detention hearing.
