Unrestrained Police Brutality, a Recent Harsh Testimony: Yosef
This testimony concerns Yosef, a young man who took part earlier in the week in a protest against the confiscation of a farm’s flock in Binyamin. His arrest involved extreme violence by Magav (Border Police) officers in Judea and Samaria.
Yosef recounted: “A Magav officer threw me to the floor and split my head open. A moment later he lifted me and slammed my head into a cart attached to a Civil Administration pickup truck. I was thrown to the floor again and was kicked and struck with a weapon.”
He continued: “When he got tired of that, he pulled me off the floor by the peyot (sidelocks) so hard that blood actually came out. At some point I stopped understanding exactly what was happening. I was released the same day, but the wounds still haven’t healed.”
