BREAKING: Blow to Maj. Gen. Bluth: District Court Favors Dardik (center)
Jerusalem District Court Judge Avraham Rubin rejected the appeal filed by Central Command Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth against the military appeals court’s ruling that his administrative order against Tal Yinon Dardik is unenforceable and null.
Dardik has been held in the Russian Compound and on hunger strike for 34 days protesting the order. Attorney Moshe Polsky of the Honenu organization, who represents Dardik, has begun steps for his swift release.
The appeal was submitted against the position of Defense Minister Israel Katz, who directed that the order not continue, sparking public controversy. Polsky welcomed the ruling, stating that Bluth’s legal maneuvers failed after two courts found the order invalid, and called on Bluth and the Shin Bet to examine their conduct.
Judge Rubin granted Maj. Gen. Bluth an extra two days to implement the court’s decision. As a result, Tal Yinon Dardik, now on hunger strike for 35 days, remains in detention while Bluth considers whether to appeal further to the Supreme Court against the Defense Minister’s position.
