Two shepherd dogs die of poisoning; this shows one of them getting sick. Hard to watch…
Arab assailants from the village of Qusra infiltrated the grazing lands of Givat Tel Telpiot in Samaria at night, scattering lethal poison hidden in food scraps used as bait for a sheep flock. The settlement’s guard dogs arrived first, rapidly developing severe convulsions and foaming at the mouth. Both dogs died within minutes despite the shepherd’s attempts to save them. No suspects have been arrested so far.
This attack is part of a growing trend of poisoning incidents. Last week, assailants from al-Mughayyir poisoned a sheep herd in Binyamin, killing two and sickening 15 others. Data from Yesha Rescue shows at least seven such poisoning attacks in Judea and Samaria since the beginning of the year.
In response to yesterday’s incident, Israel Police launched an investigation. Officers from the Judea and Samaria District, along with forensic teams from Ariel station and IDF forces, arrived at the scene in the afternoon to collect evidence and testimonies. The investigation is ongoing.
Local residents criticized security forces for past indifference to this pattern of attacks and vowed to strengthen their hold on the strategic hill.
