Destruction and confiscation of a herd on one of the hills established in memory of Benayahu, hy”d
The tenth settlement demolition this past week targeted a hilltop outpost near Immanuel established in memory of Benayahu Melet, murdered just under a month earlier. Overnight, Border Police and Civil Administration forces extensively destroyed “Kfar Roe’im” (Shepherds’ Village), confiscating a flock of sheep and a tractor. The animals were loaded onto a trailer under harsh conditions. Protesters at the Yakir junction who tried to block the seizure faced gas and stun grenades.
The action followed an order from Judea and Samaria Division Commander Kobi Heller declaring a one-month closed military zone to prevent Jewish presence. Melet had planned the site to interrupt contiguous Arab territory between Nablus and Salfit; after his death, friends settled the land to honor his intent. Activists describe the week’s demolitions—including family homes and equipment—as an unprecedented surge compared with recent months and the prior year.
