An Emergency Appeal from Elisha Yered

I wish I could explain to you in words how significant the flock of sheep that was confiscated tonight was, at the settlement outpost established in memory of Benayahu Melet, may God avenge his blood.

I’m up after a sleepless night and already writing while half-asleep, but it’s no exaggeration to say that this small flock of sheep simply made history on the ground over the past month. It was guarding a main and critical connecting artery between what they consider two parts of a Palestinian state, and this settlement is effectively severing it for the first time in 30 years of Oslo.

It was no coincidence that the flock was chosen as a target for harassment. They know its strategic significance better than we do.

We’re all flooded with campaigns, but here it’s something small and simple under an emergency call-up (Tzav 8) — with the mobilization of just 200 people here, we can already ensure today that this critical campaign returns to its winning track.

Come on, you’ve already proven your strength dozens of times. Who’s stepping up this time as well?
