What actually happened in Kutzra in Samaria?
In the Kutzra (Qusra is the Arabic name) area of Samaria, near a high mountain between Migdalim and the Shilo bloc, tension has risen around a Jewish outpost named Tel Talpiyot.
Israeli families and young men founded it about eight months ago on a strategic ridge. Palestinians, led by Qusay Abu Ridi, had planned roads and houses there, but founding this outpost blocked them.
Abu Ridi is known to be the main terrorist driving the friction; he has a record of violence against Jewish shepherds, was arrested earlier, and later released. His village has a long history of attacks on Israelis, including lynchings, bombings, and shootings.
Recently, shepherds put up a simple shade structure near his house for their flock in the heat. The Israelis used no violence against the Arab family or Israeli soldiers.
Israeli forces declared the area a closed military zone, dismantled the structure, and removed the civilians. An IDF spokesman said commanders would punish any civilian actions toward the family and take steps against a military unit involved. Officials also removed other unauthorized buildings nearby.
Right-wing critics point to media and political pressure turning the event into a “settler violence” story for electoral gain.
