The Netanya Magistrate’s Court recently ordered the release of farmer Uriya Cohen (picture above) to house arrest after a month in jail. Uriya from the Tzofnat farm in Samaria, who went out to search for the herd that was stolen from him was attacked by Arab rioters from the village of Hawara. Attorney Adi Kedar of the Honenu Legal Aid organization is representing Uriya.
Attorney Kedar said: “The court has spoken. Uriya’s prolonged prison detention was, by all accounts, unnecessary and biased. We will protect the farmers in every way and we will continue to act with determination to do so.”
