Olam Katan investigation: Reports from “Yehuda and Shomron Rescue Without Borders” reveal a sharp rise in the number of attacks in Judea and Samaria since the beginning of October. Alongside stone-throwing on the roads, attacks in grazing areas and settlement farms are increasing — and the data present a disturbing picture.

**63 attacks were documented in Judea and Samaria in the first 13 days of October**, according to an analysis of reports by the organization “Yehuda and Shomron Rescue Without Borders.” This is more than double the number of incidents documented during the entire month of September, and reflects a marked increase in the rate of reports of harm to Israelis, vehicles, and settlement points.

These figures gain added weight in light of the broader trend: since the Simchat Torah massacre, there had been a gradual decline in the volume of terrorist incidents, thanks to an increased alert level by Central Command. However, in the past two weeks the trend has reversed with a sharp and sudden surge. According to the organization’s reports, the steep rise is occurring against the backdrop of the start of the olive harvest season — a period accompanied by a proliferation of organized attacks in grazing areas and around the farms, alongside continued threats on the roads.

The data also show an intensification within October itself: between October 1 and 7, 27 incidents were documented, while between October 8 and 13 another 36 incidents were recorded. For comparison, in September the analysis recorded 29 incidents: five in the first week, three in the second week, 14 in the third week, and seven in the final nine days of the month. The rise in the number of incidents since the beginning of October stands out especially against the start of the olive harvest season, which according to the organization’s reports is accompanied by a proliferation of attacks in grazing areas and around the farms. The figures include a variety of methods, and not only shooting, stabbing, and ramming attacks.

### Dozens of stone-throwing incidents: from Samaria roads to grazing areas

The most common method is stone-throwing at vehicles, buses, and residents. In the first week of October, the analysis classified 20 stone-throwing and harassment incidents, and between October 8 and 13 another 27 stone-throwing and violence incidents were counted. These categories also include attacks in grazing areas, and do not necessarily represent 47 separate stone-throwing attacks.

Among the focal points of the attacks reported are the Gilad axis in Samaria, Route 60, the Shiloh and Turmus Ayya area, Hizma, Arab Tekoa, the Yitzhar area, and access roads to the farms. On October 5, for example, a stone was reported thrown at a vehicle on the Gilad axis near the turnoff to the Sela outpost. The stone shattered the windshield and entered the vehicle, but the driver did not lose control and was not injured. On October 8, stones and a paint bottle were thrown at vehicles in the same area, and on October 11 a bus window was damaged between Hizma and Anatot.

However, it is not only vehicles that are being targeted. On October 7, dozens of Arabs from the village of Ramin attacked Jews in the grazing areas of Brit Avraham near Sebastia. One resident was injured in the head, was extracted by an off-road vehicle, treated by a military medical team, and evacuated in moderate condition to Beilinson Hospital. Four others were lightly injured and did not require medical treatment. On the same day, four people were also reported lightly injured by stone-throwing on the outskirts of Marda.

### Attempted ramming, knife, and Molotov cocktails

Alongside the stone attacks, at the beginning of October there were also reports of attempted attacks using other methods. **On October 5, a vehicle tried to ram an IDF force in the area between Ma’ale Hever and Nabi Yakin, near Bani Naim.** According to reports, the force responded by opening fire at the suspects, and three of them were hit: one was killed, one was seriously injured, and one was lightly injured. There were no casualties among our forces.

On the same date, a stabbing attempt was reported at a temporary farm outpost between Michmas and Rimonim. According to Yehuda and Shomron Rescue Without Borders, a terrorist arrived at the site, set a vehicle on fire, and drew a knife with the intention of stabbing residents. One of the residents responded quickly and rammed the terrorist with his vehicle. The terrorist was injured and neutralized, with no casualties among the residents.

Molotov cocktail throwing was also recorded during the period. On October 1, Molotov cocktails were reported thrown in the Burqa area, and on October 7 Arabs from al-Fawwar in the Hebron Hills threw a Molotov cocktail at a bus. The bottle ignited on the roadside, with no casualties. Later, on October 9, a vehicle was also reported set on fire on the access road to Tel Talpiot by Arabs from Talpiot.

### The shooting and stabbing attacks that preceded the rise

To understand the full picture, it is important to look back at September as well. Although in the first two weeks of October most of the reports concerned stone-throwing, attacks on shepherds, poisonings, and attempted rammings and stabbings, the previous month also saw serious shooting attacks.

On September 7, a terrorist arrived by vehicle at the Maoz Yehuda farm near Osarin in Samaria. According to reports, he spoke with one of the residents, asked him if he had a weapon, and then attacked him with repeated stabbings and fled in his vehicle. The resident, a 19-year-old, was seriously injured by multiple stab wounds and was treated by Yehuda and Shomron Rescue Without Borders responders and a military medical team.

Later in the month, two shooting incidents were documented. On September 18, shooting was reported from the direction of al-Mughayyir toward the Metzudat David farm, after which bullet impacts were found on the farm’s off-road vehicle. On September 20, a shooting attack occurred against Israelis in the area of the spring in Neveh Tzuf, in which an Israeli was critically or seriously injured according to initial reports. On the same day, an attempted ramming of an IDF force near the Ganim checkpoint was also foiled after the terrorist was shot. On September 23, a ramming attack was reported at the Beit El checkpoint on Route 443, in which a roughly 40-year-old Israeli was seriously injured and the terrorist was neutralized. These incidents illustrate that the more severe methods did not begin in October, even if the quantitative increase is especially prominent from the beginning of the month.

### Attacks on shepherds, roadblocks, and poisonings

One of the prominent characteristics in the recent reports is the proliferation of attacks against sheep herders and farm residents. On October 1, Jewish hikers were attacked near a water cistern in the Yasuf area. A 14-year-old boy was lightly injured in the back after, according to the report, being dragged on the stones by the attackers. On October 7, a 16-year-old shepherd was attacked in grazing areas near Almon, when five Arab rioters attacked him and the farm owner who came to help. The youth was lightly injured in the head and evacuated to Shaare Zedek Hospital.

Over the weekend of October 9–10, another sequence of attacks was documented, including in the area of Or Yedidya near the Gilad farm, Karmi Binyamin, Givat Tidhar, Mevaser Shalom, Kfar Ro’im, Metzudat David, and Chesed LeAvraham. In some of the incidents, residents and security personnel who came to assist were injured. According to reports, a youth from Givat Tidhar was lightly injured in the head and evacuated to hospital, and in the area of the Kala David farm near Neveh Tzuf there was also a report of an attempt to snatch a weapon from a resident during a confrontation. At the same time, stone barriers were reported placed on the access roads to Giborei David and Shir LeDavid. On October 12, a sheep herder was lightly injured in the grazing areas of Michtam LeDavid after, according to the report, being attacked by Arab rioters accompanied by additional activists.

**Another method harming the farms is the poisoning of animals and water sources.** On October 6, according to the organization’s report, a water trough in the grazing areas of the Metzudat David farm near al-Mughayyir was poisoned. As a result, nine sheep and a herding dog died, and dozens more sheep were harmed. The next day, poisoned pita breads were reported scattered near Khirbet Abu Falah, following which a goat died and additional goats were harmed. On October 11, another poisoning incident was reported at Metzudat David, in which four goats died and others were harmed. According to the latest update in the Yehuda and Shomron Rescue Without Borders event log, since the beginning of 2026, 19 poisoning incidents have been documented, and in four of them the poison was discovered before the animals were harmed.

### Also a suspicious object resembling an explosive device

On October 9, a PLO flag was found in the grazing areas of the Chesed LeAvraham farm, to which an object suspected of being an explosive device was attached. According to a Yehuda and Shomron Rescue Without Borders report, a bomb disposal expert handled the object the following day. The report does not confirm that it was definitively an active explosive device. In another case, on October 6, suspicion arose of the activation of an explosive device in the Har Bezek area in the Jordan Valley, but it was later reported that it was apparently not an explosive device, and therefore the incident is not included as a confirmed explosive-device attack.
